Online grocery shopping is growing in popularity all over the world, with shoppers seeking convenience and variety. As more retailers offer online ordering and as mobile devices become more popular, the trend is likely to continue. All four major UK grocers provide online grocery services. The high-end British grocer has faced increasing competition from discount chains such as Lidl and Aldi and Aldi, which are increasing their market share. Waitrose is still in the top spot in an earlier Market Force Information survey on consumer perceptions of seven supermarket chains. The survey involved 4300 customers who evaluated supermarkets based on their selection, layout and cleanliness.
